GENEREX CS121 SNMP adapter firmware flash renewal and recovery : -------------------------------------------------------------------- CAUTION ! This upgrade process requires some technical knowledge an can seriously damage your CS121 if not successful. Please carefully follow the instructions to avoid damages on your system ! General information regarding upgrading CS121 Known Problems: - Any update could cause a deletion of all former settings. Please check your CS121 configuration after the update. - Any recovery should be made on the default IP Adress 10.10.10.10. Put DIP Switch 1 and 2 to OFF position before you start. - Please avoid router or switches between your computer and the CS121, if possible, use a direct line (ethernet-cross-cable). Instructions for recovery procedure of GENEREX CS121 SNMP adapter: -------------------------------------------------------------------- In case the CS121 is not running, has any defect or other problem, please put dip switch 1 to OFF (Dip 2 should be always OFF) and follow the procedure below: 1. Before starting the update, unplug the adapter from the power supply (slot cards have to be removed from the slot). 2. Set a route to default IP Adress. Command syntax on your windows computer: "route add 10.10.10.10 3. Check if youre route is correctly set with "route print". You should see that 10.10.10.10 is in the list 4. Check if no other device is answering on "ping 10.10.10.10". If you get any answer than you have to disable this device first before you can continue. 5. Prepare your CS12x_up Tool for option "FORMAT & REWRITE". 6. Press "Start Update" button and re-power the CS121 AT THE SAME MOMENT ! If the start was successfull, you will see that the firmware is loading. DO NOT INTERRUPT THIS PROCESS ! Its important to start the update and the adapter at the same time because even with a defect firmware there is a window of 1 second during cold boot where the CS121 answers to IP calls to 10.10.10.10. If at this window the firmware update tool gets a connection the recovery process can start. If you get a timeout, retry this procedure. 7. After the firmware has been loaded, you can reboot the adapter and configure the system with TELNET, still using IP adress 10.10.10.10 FINISH. ....................................................................
